The Samsung Electronics Africa Forum 2012 launched in Cape Town this week, and will be wrapping up on Sunday.
From 22 – 24 March, the trade event has focused on bringing South African dealers, media and businesses a localised version of the Samsung Electronics stand at the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Expo. On Sunday, 25 March, it will also feature an extra day for mainstream consumers, the Samsung Connect Cape Town event, which will feature access to the trade exhibition and an interactive event.
The world’s largest consumer tech show
The Consumer Electronics Show is the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, featuring new product announcements and previews, which is not open to the public. Samsung is one of the biggest exhibitors of the 3100 companies on the show floor with innovations spanning all of its product categories from audio visual and home appliances, to mobile handsets, digital cameras and notebooks.
Deon Liebenberg, MD at Samsung Electronics South Africa, says that this year 2 000 consumers will now also be able to get first-hand exposure to the latest innovative technology products from Samsung and insight into key trends in the consumer electronics space.
Connect Cape Town Event
“The Connect Cape Town event will deliver the ultimate connection between music, technology, lifestyle and people. Bringing the latest Smart Technology to life, Samsung will immerse consumers in live music performances, art shows and international chef demos to show how technology can enhance how we live, work and play,” he says.
The key technologies and products Samsung will showcase will closely match its Las Vegas exhibition. Aside from Samsung’s Smart Technology, which ensures easy and flexible connectivity for all its products, Samsung will also announce new products for South Africa.
“Samsung prides itself on creating Smart Technology that adds meaningful value to people’s lives. Cape Town Connect will expose people to the future of technology innovation in a uniquely entertaining way to connect with a smarter future,” says Liebenberg.
