The National Environmental Skills Summit is taking place on 30 and 31 October at the Indaba Conference Centre in Fourways, Johannesburg.
The environmental, education and business sectors will debate the scarcity, quality and relevance of environmental skills needed to effectively manage South Africa’s natural resources. Topics to be addressed include:
- How far have we come?
- What still needs to be done?
- Who will lead?
- And what does it take to get us there?
We need green skills
South Africa continues to experience skills shortages in water specialists, biodiversity planners, environmental lawyers, green engineers and alternative energy entrepreneurs and experts.
How do we create a sustainable supply of green skills to meet the potential demand, and at the same time, help decrease South Africa’s 24.9 percent unemployment rate?
