Sponsorship and Activation experts Chaos Theory are proud to introduce marketers, agencies, and media to this unique opportunity to connect with great next-gen marketing through their CoNext Sponsorship Forum.
CoNext Sponsorship is more than a talk-shop. It’s a three way panel discussion, it’s a live case study, it’s a robust debate about great work that actually works!
It’s also the first of many planned forums, with the inaugural edition unpacking the successful and symbiotic sponsorship partnership between iconic Chelsea FC and South Africa’s leading deodorant brand Shield.
Anchored by SA Sports Journalist of the Year OG Molefe, the inaugural CoNext Sponsorship forum will explore all aspects of the Shield Sbonis’iDiski campaign, developed by Shield, which afforded talented soccer hopefuls the opportunity to train at Chelsea.
Gareth Marshall, Senior Brand Manager for Shield South Africa will present compelling insights into the architecture of a successful brand partnership in the highly competitive and sales-focussed FMCG world.
Kelvin Watt, Nielsen Sports MD for Asia, Africa and the Middle East will be looking at the broader landscape of soccer in South Africa, what makes soccer so important for local brands, and what the industry can take away from the savvy way Shield has utilised soccer.
Finally, Edward Connock from Chelsea FC will complete the interactive panel via teleconference live from Stamford Bridge to examine the successful partnership with Shield and what rights holders need to do to unlock value for commercial partners for mutual benefit.
In short, there will be fascinating insights in the room for everyone in the industry.
And it’s come just in time.
MD of Chaos Theory and sponsorship industry personality Andrew Ross has created this platform specifically to further the evolution of sponsorships in the marketing mix through learnings from relevant work, and robust debate.
Ross says, ‘There’s no doubt that brands are struggling more than ever to break through the clutter. The evolution of the consumer has shifted the power away from traditional mediums. We’ve never had consumers more disconnected from brands – yet the same consumer ironically wants more from brands than ever before.
We have seen a significant shift towards content driven sponsorship strategies, but the reality is that the majority of content just does not land correctly. Millennials specifically are proving a tough nut to crack with over 70% of brand based content on their timelines perceived as irrelevant or uninteresting.’
He goes on to say, ‘I believe the time is right for the sponsorship industry to really interrogate its own work for the betterment of the industry and the craft around the sponsorship game. Unlike traditional marketing and advertising, we don’t have a plethora of award categories, we don’t have the multitude of opportunities to network and collectively interrogate great thinking. That’s why Chaos Theory is developing this CoNext Forum. It’s high time for collaboration.’
This is for you, right’s holders, this is for you brand managers, this is for you creative agencies.
Industry thought leaders across all sectors will be at the CoNext Sponsorship Forum, which will also be streaming live. Commercial clients, rights holders, media and even invited students … all in one room. And this is your invitation to join them – for free – on Wednesday 14th November 2018, at The Baobab Auditorium inside The Cube WorkSpace, cnr Straight Avenue and Forrest Drive, Pineslopes, Fourways.
Registration to attend, or stream the inaugural CoNext Sponsorship Forum is available via the forum’s dedicated website – www.conext.co.za.
