The Johannesburg Shanduka Black Umbrellas (SBU) incubator will be hosting procurement workshops and seminars during Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) which takes place this week from 18 to 24 November.
The international initiative acknowledges the innovators and job creators who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. Since its creation, more than 10 million people from 102 countries have participated in entrepreneurial-related activities during the week.
In South Africa Shanduka Black Umbrellas (SBU) has, for the past eight years, been providing emerging businesses with a solid foundation through training, on-going mentoring and subsidised infrastructural support.
On Tuesday 19 November, the SBU incubator is hosting an open procurement workshop at the auditorium at its premises at African Heritage Society House, 325 Rivonia Boulevard in Rivonia. It will include speakers from two large corporates as well as motivational speaker JJ Zondi.
On Wednesday 20 November there will be a finance seminar for those thinking of starting their own business. It will revolve around start-ups and pitfalls to avoid.
