The inaugural Africa-Asia-Europe International Trade and Investment Summit (AAE Summit) has been earmarked as one of the most influential private sector summits regarding trade and trade related issues globally, while also being the first summit of its kind ever to be launched.
The three-day AAE Trade and Investment Summit is themed ‘Breaking New Ground’ and is organised by Egoli Communications’ Global Events Division.
The AAE Summit is to be held from 29 to 31 October 2012, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, situated in Cape Town,South Africa.
Creating awareness in Europe and Asia
The aim of the AAE Summit is to create awareness within the Asian and European private and public sectors of the various commercial opportunities available in Africa. The summit will present the opportunity for trilateral discussion between businesses, academics and policy makers regarding various economic challenges the world is currently facing and possible solutions to these challenges.
It is hoped that through these discussions a new world view will be created to allow attendees to easily identify opportunities in new markets and products, while cementing the relationships between Africa, Asia and Europe.
Attendees to the AAE Summit will include; representatives from over 60 countries in Africa, Asia andEurope, more than 40 Government delegates, representatives from over 40 Chambers of Commerce and Industry, representatives from private sector firms, investors, analysts, financiers and academics from across the globe. Attendance to the AAE Summit is open to the general public, although registration is essential.
Businesses showcased
At the AAE Summit, over 300 exhibitors from Africa, Asia and Europe will showcase their businesses, systems and technologies. The exhibitors will be drawn from various industries and will provide the opportunity for mutually beneficial business relationships to be created. Attendees can look forward to insightful information to be shared by the 48 speakers as well as 24 speaker presentations, nine panel discussions, eight investment presentations and 11 networking events.
The overall goals of the AAE Summit are to debunk myths regarding inter-continental trade, to enable private sector entities to develop new markets, to enable Governments to attract investment, to debate trade issues while building networks and sharing new information, to become a platform to launch new products and, ultimately, to provide solutions to global challenges faced by today’s economies.
