For entrepreneurs in Johannesburg, the fourth annual State of Entrepreneurship summit is being held at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Newtown.
The summit is being held on 12 November by Endeavor SA, in conjunction with sponsors SAP and SAB Kickstart.
Entrepreneurship creates jobs
Endeavor SA says it sees Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) as an opportunity to drive the nation-wide conversation on the state of entrepreneurship in the country.
It believes that entrepreneurship is the most effective way to create jobs in the emerging market in the long-term.
The theme of the summit is ‘Creating the right ecosystem to grow and support high-impact entrepreneurs’.
10 million people involved in GEW
The GEW summit will be part of a global celebration of entrepreneurship in 125 countries—with nearly 24 000 partner organisations planning more than 40 000 concurrent activities engaging more than 10 million people.
This year’s summit will begin with a headline panel discussion, after which participants will break away into four discussion groups to drill down into various sub-topics. The summit will involve some of South Africa’s top business leaders, policy makers, and entrepreneurs.
