300 entrepreneurs from Kwazulu-Natal have the opportunity to attend a free three-day conference on the critical aspects of entrepreneurship. TheEntrepreneurs 4 Africa Conference, being held from 25 to 27 June in Durban, will train, develop and inspire 300 previously disadvantaged start-up entrepreneurs and unemployed youth.
Top class speakers, trainers, and experienced business owners are donating their time in order to offer these 300 youth a life-changing experience.
Essential entrepreneurship skills
The conference will cover the following:
- Business ethics
- Success stories
- Managing money
- Ideas generation
- Basics of book-keeping
- The business plan
- Marketing on a budget
- Business legalities
- Pricing and costing
- Business etiquette
- Image and grooming
- Customer service
- Goal setting
- Motivation.
Cindy Norcott, founder of The Robin Hood Foundation, which is hosting the conference, says: “We aim to empower these young people with skills, knowledge and an exposure to a higher level of thinking. With this three-day course, we believe that we will be equipping the youth to start thinking of creating their own businesses instead of looking for jobs that don’t necessarily exist.”
Who can attend?
Attendees need to have a minimum of matric and will be identified and selected through the Durban Chamber of Commerce, various business organisations, educational institutions and community leaders.
