Unique Ways To Incorporate Charitable Giving Into Your Business

While your business should focus on meeting deadlines and bringing in revenue, you should also focus on other issues, such as helping the community or donating to crisis response charities.

This will not only help your employees feel more content and happier, but it will also reflect well to your consumers. But, it can be tricky to incorporate donating to disasters or donating to emergencies in your business model easily and effectively.

You should do research into ways that businesses can give back so that you can truly make an impact. For example, small business owners could have a day each month for volunteer work afternoons where staff spends time helping out at a charity.

Or you could reach out to your local community and ask if there is a local charity that needs help, such as one that works against violence against women. If you are interested in making your business more charitable, keep reading for some top tips.

Consider why you want to give back

Arguably one of the most important steps in incorporating charitable giving into your business is to think about why you want to give back. For example, you might be passionate about preventing violence against women and children in certain countries, making it an ideal charity to donate to as a business.

You might feel that donating to charity is a good and positive way to improve employee morale, which is still a good reason to think more about charitable giving. Team building and boosting staff happiness are worthwhile reasons for wanting to give back to the community, so do not dismiss these thoughts.

You might have a relative who has overcome abuse or illness and would like to give back to this cause, spurring on your charitable giving.

How would you like to give back?

Once you know why you would like to give back, you should think about how you would like to give back. This is important because it will guide you in how you will incorporate it into your business.

You could look into fundraising for a women’s shelter in your area and providing them with funds to help those who need care and help in difficult times.

If you are a small business with an equally small budget, you could offer to provide services to them such as marketing, website design, and social media posting. This way you will be providing them with affordable services and also building your portfolio and your presence.

Donating money is an ideal way to give back to charity but it is important that you do not donate an amount you cannot afford.

      Ask employees to volunteer

Volunteering is often something that many people would like to do but cannot because of their work schedules. But, if you ask your employees to volunteer, and allow them to do it in working hours, you will be able to effectively give back and improve employee morale at the same time.

Allow them to choose a charity that everyone agrees on for volunteering.

      Volunteers

If the charity your employees have chosen focuses on issues such as gender violence, you could ask employees to volunteer their time to cheer up the women, men and children who are housed there.

For example, you could organise a day out at the movies and ask your staff to chaperone the trip, or you could spend time painting and renovating a wing of the charity to make it a safe and happy place for everyone who lives there.

      Consider fundraising

Fundraising is an effective way to incorporate charitable giving into your business. This is because it will allow you to raise money for your chosen cause and also build visibility around your brand.

You will be able to create a campaign on social media and even on your own website, allowing clients, and consumers to see your efforts.

The fundraiser could become an annual or regular event, allowing you to easily incorporate donating into your company culture. This will also allow your employees to engage with the charity and collaborate with them regarding the fundraiser.

Consumers today react highly positively to brands that donate to charity and who make an effort to contribute to their community.

Giving back is always a good idea

As a business, giving back to charity is always a good idea. This is because it allows you to show consumers that you truly care about something other than simply selling to them.

Think about why you want to give back and how you would like to do so. Asking your employees to volunteer and organising a fundraiser can also help to make charitable giving a part of your company culture.
