SuperSport presenter and former 5FM DJ Sasha Martinengo is taking a road trip – in a car powered by tweets!
The trip forms part of Caltex‘s new socially powered ‘Keep it Going’ campaign.
Joburg to Cape Town via Twitter
The initiative will see Martinengo drive from Johannesburg to Cape Town over five days, stopping at 20 Caltex filling stations en route. During the trip he will broadcast his show, Gearz, on Ballz visual radio live from the road.
Marlin van Noie, creative director at digital agency Quirk, everything about the trip will be dictated by social media, including what Martinengo listens to, what he packs, what he eats and how he gets there.
She says, “Without public participation, he will be stranded, therefore he has to make sure his trip is engaging and entertaining for the 1 600km if he hopes to get enough people tweeting to ensure he can fill his tank with fuel.”
Prizes for consumers
Consumers will be able to win R10 000 for their participation in each phase of the trip, with a further R4 000 daily cash prize for the duration of the five-day trip.
The road trip will take place from 3 to 8 December.
